MHS Swims at Yellow Jacket Invitational

Friday, August 23rd, the Mavs rolled into Augusta for the Yellow Jacket Invitational anticipating very fast swims from the other 12 competing high schools.  They knew they would have to put in some fast swims to make a good showing at this meet.  And they did.

The mens team came to this meet pumped and ready to swim.  They scored in all three relays.  Starting the meet off right, the boys team of Dylan Ogle, Connor Clayton, Keegan Neale, and Trey Cottrell won the 200 Medley Relay.  The 200 Free Relay team of Connor Clayton, Trey Cottrell, Keegan Neale, and Dylan Ogle swam to a third place finish.  Finishing the meet by scoring 5th place in the 400 Free Relay was the team of Griffin Chandler, Matthew Gabriel, Garrett Minton, and Camden Spees.

Finishing fifth in the 100 Fly and the 500 Free, Dylan Ogle added more points for the boys team.  Keegan Neale scored 3rd in the 500 Free and 4th in the 50 Free.  Leading the boys in scoring, Connor Clayton had a 3rd place finish in the 200 IM and a 2nd place finish in the 100 Breast.  In the 200 Free, Griffin Chandler and Garrett Minton placed 4th and 7th respectively.  Seniors, Eric Singleton and Evan Tin also scored points for the team in the 200 Breast with 3rd and 8th place finishes.
