Region II-AAAA Swimming Championship

The girls relays scored big for the Mavs, winning the 400 Free relay and placing 2nd in the other two relays.  The 400 Free relay team of Savannah Gaido, Emma Knapp, MaKayla Brooks and Danielle Galyer swam a time of 3:43.27 to place first, over 3 seconds in front of Spartanburg.  In the 200 Medley Relay, the team of Galyer, Brooks, Lauren Price, and Gaido finished 2nd, just .21 seconds behind Dorman, and .68 seconds in front of Spartanburg.  Touching the wall just .40 seconds in front of Riverside, the team of Celine Crum, Knapp, Price, and Brooke Williams placed 2nd in the 200 Free relay.  

The Lady mavs scored big in the 200 free event with Galyer and Gaido placing 2nd and 3rd, and Williams and Rachel Paul finishing 7th and 10th respectively.  In the 200 I.M., Knapp and Laura Tanzey had 6th and 9th place finishes with automatic state times, and Emily Kouten came in 14th with a consideration time. Getting consideration times in the 50 Free, Lizzie Burnett, Rachel Paul, and Sally Sims finished 8th, 11th, and 13th respectively.  Price placed 3rd in the 100 Butterfly with a state qualifying time, and Williams, Katie Mooney, and Sims all swam consideration times in the fly.  In the 100 Free, Gaido finished second, scoring more points for the Mavs.  The Lady Mavs were well represented in the 500 Free with Galyer, Brooks, and Knapp finishing 2nd, 3rd, and 4th, all with state times.  In addition, Crum came in 10th with a consideration time. The only first place finish in an individual event for the girls team went to Price in the 100 Backstroke.  Adding more points for the Lady Mavs in that event were Tanzey and Burnett, finishing 4th and 10th respectively.  Brooks had a second place state qualifying finish in the 100 Breaststroke, with Mooney and Crum swimming consideration times to finish 15th and 16th in that same event.
