Lady Mavs XC make it to STATE!!

Posted in Cross Country Girls, Team News by SandyLawson

Lady Mavs State XC Team - Jane Macsay, Emma Driggers, Sarah Lynch, Sadie Smith, Jessica Roth, Bridget Walsh, Lauren Fox, and Sarah Feaster.

Congratulations to the Lady Mavs XC team for making it to State! The girls placed in the top 8 teams that qualified for state at the AAAA Upper State Qualifier at Dorman High. The girls team scored 222 points which was the exact same score as Fort Mill. The beauty of the sport is that you never know when you need to depend on your 6th and 7th runner to score (usually the top 5 scores place). In a tie breaker the 6th runner on both teams are scored. Mauldin's Bridget Walsh came in ahead of Fort Mill's 6th runner, which placed the Mauldin team higher than Fort Mill!

Jane Macsay 12th place 20:00

Emma Driggers 34th place 21:05

Sarah Lynch 46th place 21:30

Sadie Smith 60th place 22:14

Jessica Roth 70th place 22:34

Bridget Walsh 87th place 23:36

Lauren Fox 91st place 23:40

Parent Meeting, August 9th

Posted in Cross Country Girls, Team News by SandyLawson

We will have our mandatory parent meeting with our Athletic Director and Athletic Trainer on 9 August at 6:00 PM. We will meet in the Media Center and then move somewhere in the building to discuss meet schedule, rules, and fundraising. Please plan to attend. Athletes need not apply.
In lieu of asking runners to sell anything as a fundraiser parents are asked to make a $75 donation to the team to help cover transportation costs and other expenses this season. Checks may be made out to Mauldin High School and turned in at this meeting. Team warmups (not mandatory) can be ordered at this meeting. Samples will be shown and exact prices shared at the meeting but a good estimate based on past years is approximately $75-80 per set.

Mavs Membership Blitz, August 19

Posted in Cross Country Girls, Team News by SandyLawson

The MAVS Booster Club supports the entire athletic program of Maudlin High School and each of its athletic teams.  Our volunteers staff the games and operate concessions.  The proceeds of all our fund raising  endeavors go directly into each athletic team for the purchase of equipment, uniforms, payment of fees, upkeep of fields and courts, and for all other operating costs.  MAVS Booster Club has one mission to support the finest.  Please join our efforts today.

The Annual Mavs Membership Blitz will be held on Sunday, August 19th beginning at Mauldin High. All students that will be participating in Mauldin sports for the 2012-13 school year are expected to attend the Blitz. All Coaches will be present as well.

What is the Blitz? This is the one time every year that athletes go out and canvas local neighborhoods door to door and ask for residents to join the booster club. The "teams" of car loads will compete for who can bring back the most memberships.  Only parent volunteers will drive the athletes to and from the school and neighborhood. After going door to door everyone meets back at the school for a picnic and prizes to see which cars brought in the most memberships. It really is a great day and a great way to kick off the new school sports year! Parent volunteers are needed. Please sign up with the information on the form below.
