State Meet results

Congratulations to Boys Track athletes Ej Reddick and Joseph Berry! They are both going to STATE!!! EJ WON the Triple Jump at the State Qualifier with 46-2 and Joseph placed 4th in the Pole Vault with a 13-6. It was a very long and hot day for the athletes! Congrats to all that were able to compete today!

All track uniforms musted be turned into your coach by Wednesday with the exception of those going to State.  Be sure they are cleaned, DRY, and placed in a plastic ziploc bag with your name clearly marked on the outside of the bag.  If you dump the uniform off and don't have your name on it then you might not get credit for turning it in.  Remember those that don't turn in their uniforms will be fined for the cost of the uniform.  Seniors all fees and uniforms must be returned in order for you to attend graduation practice.  Be sure you check with Coach to see that your name is off the list of "Who didn't turn in their uniforms."  Can't stress enough, every year we have athletes that forget and are put on a list and get called down to the office for payment. Let's make this year 100% uniform turn in year!  Captains can help with this too!

In continuing with a long standing tradition on this team, yet another Mauldin track member has been honored with the highest award given to a junior at Mauldin High - (previous winners Brittany Williams '12, Joseph Hill '11, Eric Lawson '09, Alex Abercrombie '07)

Congratulations to Mauldin junior Christopher Sullivan on receiving the West Point Leadership Award. More to come on Christopher's accomplishments.... 

West Point Leadership Award - The award is given each year to one high school junior based on their academic, athletic, community service, good citizenship and leadership abilities.  The winner is invited to attend the West Point Strong Leader Academy in the summer at the McGrady National Guard Training Center in Columbia, SC.

Christopher's name will be displayed on a plaque in the school hall along with the previous West Point Leadership Award winners.

Funeral Services for Mr. Walter Glenn Brackin will be held at First Baptist Church, Greenville (corner of Faris & Cleveland St). Visitation will be Monday, April 30th from 1:00 - 2:15. The funeral will follow at 2:30.

Boys Entries 

Coaches Notes:

1)       No substitutions or additions to the meet.
2)      All athletes must have competed in two meets this season to be eligible to compete.
3)      All four relay members must check in with the clerk and must be listed as members of your relay.
4)      You may enter a maximum of 6 athletes on a relay.  If you only list 4 names, and a relay member becomes injured or sick, you would have to scratch your relay.  If you list seven or more names, your relay will be scratched from the meet as an illegal entry.
5)      Throwing implements will be weighed in before the start of the throwing events.  Illegal implements will be impounded.  Legal implements will be marked and will be available for use by all competitors.
6)      Please review all rules regarding jewelry, electronics, uniforms, etc., with your athletes before the meet.
7)      The TOP 5 athletes and relays will qualify for the 4A qualifier at Spring Valley High School on Saturday, May 5.
8)      No headbands, hats, sunglasses (prescription only), or hard objects in hair are permitted.
9)      There is no team score, or awards handed out at this meet.  This meet is only for qualifying.

This just in from the prestigious Taco Meet Track meet (with several states competing) - Ej Reddick sets a new personal best in the Triple Jump and places 2nd at Taco Bell! EJ jumped 47-6!! Announcement For All Senior Athletes -
Be mindful that players must be at school at least 4 periods to be able to play in a game that night.  Monday is the infamous "SENIOR SKIP DAY".  If they are not here 4 periods, they do not play.
Remember 4 periods = play.     Skip = no play.

Mauldin Girls Teams places 6th at Region - Top 3 finishers 4x800 relay Hannah Hetzel, Bridget Walsh, Frazier Beane, Jane Macsay; 4x400 relay Carolyn Sullivan, Tiffany Gray, Kyler Wilson, Angela Thomas.  Way to go!

Mauldin Boys Team 4th place in Region- Highest Finishers placing in top 3 - Noah LaBelle 2nd in 400h, EJ Reddick, Noah, NaQuan Adams and Bracey Black 2nd in 4x400. Way to go!

VOLUNTEERS NEEDED!!!

The MHS Home track meet will be held at Mauldin Middle school this Thursday, March 29th.  Parent volunteers are still needed to help run the meet.  Student athletes will also be assisting when possible.  All athletes are expected to stay till the end of the meet and help with the clean up.  Athletes are not to leave after their race is over.  The funds from this meet help fund the team.  TEAM - Together Everyone Accomplishes More. 

We will introduce the seniors and their parents at 5:10 pm.  Once the introductions are completed, the JROTC will present the colors and Jordan Lyles will sing the national anthem. The ceremony will take about 10 minutes.

Congratulations to the following Mauldin track athletes for placing in the top 10 of the very competitive Coaches Classic track meet.  Every year hundreds of athletes come to Columbia to compete at Spring Valley High School.  This is as close as you will get to the level of competition the state meet brings.

Track practice will be from 4 pm to 5 pm Tuesday, March 20.  We will take everybody to Hillcrest on Wednesday, March 21st.  Track team bring your own drinks and snacks for the meet. 

Parents mark your calendars for the home track meet on 3/29.  We will need all parents to help out at the meet.

Diamond Hornet Invitational

Congratulations to the following Mavs that placed in the top 5 of their event at the Byrnes vs. Mauldin vs. Boiling Springs Meet on Tuesday evening, March 6th.

Sophomore NaQuan Adams placed 1st in the High Jump with a mark of 5-10 along with a 5th place mark in the Triple Jump.  Juniors Demarcus Marable and Noah LaBelle also placed 1st in their events.  Demarcus won the Long Jump with a mark of 19-9 and Noah won the 400 hurdles in 1:01.9. Demarcus also placed 2nd in the 200 and 3rd in the Triple Jump. Noah also placed 3rd in the 110 hurdles.  Senior EJ Reddick won the Triple Jump with a mark of 42-5 and placed 2nd in the Long Jump.  Way to go, guys!

Also placing in the top 5 of their events were 100 meters-David Jones, Tyler Brown, and Josh Clinkscales. Bracey Black (200 & 400), Ozell Lloyd (400), Marc DeLisle (800 & 1600), Ryan Smith (800 & 1600), Jeff Sinkele (1600 & 3200), Charlie Cook (800 & 1600), Zach Marion (3200), Polevault - Austin Ring & Samuel Berry (+High Jump), AJ Brown (High Jump). Great work!

Next up the Mavs will compete on Saturday at Lower Richland High School.
