Alumni becomes NCAA All American!

Mauldin's standout Track & Field/Cross Country athlete Alyssa Kulik (MHS '08) has achieved what few Division I athletes do.  Alyssa placed 4th in the NCAA Division I Track & Field National Championships on June 11, 2011 in the steeplechase event.  She was awarded NCAA All American status in Division I.  Alyssa set another Clemson school record and personal best running the event in 9:57.71!!!  Her fourth-place effort was the best finish by a Tiger female in a distance event at the NCAA Outdoor Championships since Mareike Ressing's fourth-place 3K finish in 1991.  Read more about Alyssa at Nationals on the Clemson Tigers Website.

Thanks to the help of a very special "Booster", Coach Delmer Howell was able to make the trip to Nationals and surprise Alyssa with his visit.  Clemson Coach Herbster also gave Coach Howell special "press" credentials so that he could be on the field to take pictures of the event!  What a great weekend for Mauldin and Clemson Track & Field!!!!
