March 16, 2011 Mavs VS JL Mann

Mauldin Mavericks Baseball Fans

The Mauldin Mavericks made a short road trip down Bulter Road to be the guest of the JL Mann Patriots. It was a close and tense game although the Mavs came up short with a score of 3 - 2. Mavericks scored their two runs in third and fourth inning. Patriots scored 1 run in the sixth and 2 runs in the bottom of the seventh to grab the win.

Defensively, Cory Thompson took the bump and pitched the a great game. He allowed 7 hits, 3 runs and struck out 2.

Offensively, the Mavs continue to struggle to mount a big rally and hopefully they can turn the corner in the immediate future. Mauldin had 7 hits for the game but left 5 runners on base.  While this was not Senior night, the seniors were the major contributors to the offensively effort. Ranz Bodison led the charge with 1 single,1 double and 1 RBI, Brandon Dyar and Pete Wilkes both contributed with 1 single each. Junior Alex Hebert and Sophomore Spencer Peay had one hit respectively.

The Mavs will travel to Dorman this Friday, March 18. JV starts at 5 PM and the Varsity plays at 7:30 PM.

Go Mavs!
