Kathleen West (MHS '12) was recently honored for outstanding academic achievement at The Citadel, The Military College of South Carolina. During the spring semester of the 2012-2013 academic year, West earned one of the college's top academic honors - a Gold Star. Gold Star honors are presented to students who achieve a 3.7 grade point average or higher during a semester's course work. Students that achieve Gold Star recognition are also placed on The Citadel's Dean's List. While at The Citadel, West was a member of the South Carolina Corps of Cadets and seeking a BA in Political Science .

Jonathan Baddley (MHS '09) was presented with the Furman University Hall of Leaders Award.This award is presented to a select group of seniors who have demonstrated outstanding involvement with campus life and extracurricular activities and who, through this service, have exemplified a four-year commitment to the positive enhancement of the Furman campus. Nominees must be seniors and must have served as an officer in a recognized student organization or have participated in other campus student leadership efforts, e.g., CESC, Residence Hall Council, Religious Council, FUSAB, AFS, etc. Nominees must graduate no later than the December following the nomination period.

Morgan Gregg (MHS '09) received the William Moseley Brown Award through Omicron Delta Kappa, the National Leadership Honor Society,for the individual that most consistently exemplifies the highest ideals of ODK!

Eric Lawson (MHS '09) was selected as an undergrad to give an Oral Presentation at the 2013 ARVO (Association for Research in Vision and Ophthalmology) Conference in Seattle, WA May 5-9th. His presentation was the culmination of four years of research at the Atlanta Veterans Hospital lab in association with the Emory Department of Ophthalmology. His research is how to preserve retinal function and structure.

Laura Simon (MHS '09) receiving her ACC Post Grad scholarship award! Laura is graduating from Virginia Tech in May, 2013. Congratulations, Laura. Laura will attend the new University of South Carolina School of Medicine - Greenville in July.

Kimberly Klas (MHS '09) received the Dwight Camper Undergraduate Award in Plant Medicine or Natural Products Research along with her team from the College of Charleston Department of Chemistry.This award is presented at the Annual Meeting of the South Carolina Academy of Science to an undergraduate student with an overall GPA of 3.0 or better who engages in research in plant medicine and natural product discovery for at least 1 year, and who has contributed to the generation of a scientific publication.

Limestone senior theatre major Jorge Donoso (MHS '09) competed in the National Association of Teachers of Singing (NATS) Mid-Atlantic Regional in Charleston. Specifically, Jorge represented South Carolina in the Music Theatre for College Men category. 

In February, Jorge was the big winner at the South Carolina Speech and Theatre Association College Festival by winning the Triathlon Performance Award. The award is presented to the student who has the most points in the Performance Studies, Public Speaking, and Theatre categories. He also earned first-place honors in the Oral History and Musical Theatre categories.

Kristen Smith (MHS '09) has been accepted into the Disney College Program for the fall of 2013! Kristen will be a post-grad participant, and is very excited to be a part of the magic in Disney. There will be many opportunities for professional development that will set her up for graduate school. Kristen was also inducted into the Bachman Honor Society at Newberry College
