LADY MAVS WIN THE BOJANGLES BASH CHAMPIONSHIP!
Wow! The Lady Mavs put on an amazing performance Wednesday night in Boiling Springs to capture the championship of The Bojangles Holiday Bash Tourament,downing Spartanburg 65-47. The Lady Mavs led from 2:00 minutes into the game all the way to the final buzzer. They put on an excellent display of basketball in an extremely well played game. The very talented young guard from Spartanburg had been the "talk of the tournament" according to the Spartanburg Herald. That is until she met up with La'Daisna Johnson, Raziya Prince, and the rest of the Mavs defense! Coming in averaging 22 points per game in the tournament, the young Vikings guard was held to 10 points on just 3-20 shooting. On the night Tori whittenberg had 22 points with 6 threes, Morgan Alexander 20 points and 18 rebounds to record her 42nd career double-double. Kentra Washington played another excellent game tossing in 15 points and grabbing 9 rebounds. Caitland Considine hit for 6 points on 3-3 shooting. La'Daisa Johnson had 2 points and 4 assists. Raziya Prince continued with the excellent floor game that she has brought to her senior year. Tori, Morgan, and Kentra were named to the all-tournament team. Next up the Lady Mavs will be playing in the Dorman tournament beginning with a 2:30 contest next Wednesday against a star-studded team from Maryland.
