Mavs Defeat Hanna 51-33

09/14/2013, 12:30am EDT
By @MavsMauldin

It was a Friday the 13th kind of football night at TL Hanna.  The Mavs came away with a comfortable 51-33 win depite some odd situations down on the field.  The night might best be described by a drive late in the first half. Following a defensive stand on 4th down, the Mavs took over on the 10 yard line with just over 4 minutes left in the half.  The very first play drew an offensive pass interference, setting up 1st and 15 from the 5.  The Maverick offense marched the ball across midfield down to the Hanna 40 when things got crazy!  On 1st down from the 40 the Mavs picked up a holding call, followed by a chop block on 1st and 19 that sent the ball all the way back to the Mauldin 25.  Now with a 1st and 45, the Mavs went to work picking up yards in chunks including a 22 yard screen pass to Logan Edwards.  Mauldin marched down the field and Dre Massey ran it in from the 10 yard line.  The drive was 11 plays, 95 yards with 4 penalites and converting a 1st and 45!  It was an amazing, crazy drive orchestrated by Massey and the offense and it gave the Mavs a 28-10 lead, Hanna would tack on a late field goal to make it 28-13 at the half.

Booster Club Banner Sales Form

Posted in Headlines by SandyLawson

The purpose of Mauldin High School Booster Club is to help the athletic department by supporting all the different sports teams at Mauldin High.

One of the big fundraisers for the Booster Club is to sell banners that are to be placed anywhere outside the school grounds or inside the gym area.  If you purchase a banner, you may ask a specific location for the banner to be placed – the tennis courts, baseball fields etc.  There is no limit on colors or verbage.  Logos must be Vectored artwork and in eps file. The profits from the banner will be distributed between the booster club and the team that sold that ad.

Booster Club High Five Award

Posted in Headlines by SandyLawson

I want to award this month what I call THE HIGH FIVE AWARD. When our kids do something fantastic especially in their sport we are always quick to give them a high five. As adults, as volunteers the high five is very rarely seen. It is so simple but can go a long way in the way of appreciation.
This month I would like to recognize our membership team and their husbands. With all of the memberships energies, time, field work as well as their spouses building of our data base and personally entering in every name, email and contact phone number. Amanda and Ed  Knope and Elisha and Mike Brown.
They were awarded certificates and gift cards to Starbucks.
Thank You for all you do.

Booster Club Blitz Success!

Posted in Headlines by SandyLawson

The MAVS Booster Club would like to say Thank You so very much to EVERYONE who came out to support our athletes. We had a very successful BLITZ this year. We raised over $34,000. The support of parents, students and all those who invested in memberships and made donations. The donations not only in money but also baked goods and beverages. We can not forget all of the help we got in processing every single piece of paper that came in (cash, checks, applications, forms, envelopes, etc.) We had amazing help keying in, creating, building our first Booster Club database. This will help us to be able to communicate more effectively so everyone knows when we are having events and where to support our athletes.
Please continue to submit membership applications. Please continue to support the MAVWEAR store. Please continue to support our concessions. Please continue to support all of the team reps. We are all volunteers with a purpose and that is to support all of Mauldin High School's Athletes.

Have a great year
