The Boys basketball team lost their first game to Greer 77-71.  Quan Franklin led the MAVS with 22 points followed by Cameron Rousey 17 points, Chris Wallace 10 points, Anthony Stephens 6 points, Benny Mozingo 6 points, Thomas Herlong 6 points, R. Davis 2 points, and R. Wideman-Jones 2 points.

Eastside came to Mauldin Thursday to test the Mavs skills. They got off to an earl y lead only to see Mauldin battle their way back into the game. Mauldin goes on to lose by 2 to Eastside.

Mauldin went across town Tuesday night seeking revenge of the lost to Greer last week. Greer jumped all over Mauldin at from the opening tip until Coach Garmouth made some adjustments. Quan Franklin (27pt) and Cameron Rousey (23pts) lead the offensive attack to get Mauldin back into the game.  Mauldin went into the locker room with a 5 pt. halftime lead.  Migel Blackwell made his season debut and really gave the team a spark with his inside play. Tonight they held Greer's sharpshooter Rubio to only 14 pts.  Last week he dropped 33 on Mauldin. The team worked hard and never gave up and walked away with a 7 pt win. 66- 59.

The Mavs traveled to Anderson on Friday night looking to get to .500 on the season. T.L. Hanna had a very fast, high leaping athletic squad, but at the end of the night Mauldin had the remedy. Mauldin took control of the game early on and played good team ball throughout to maintain lead and went on to win 56-51.

The Mavericks must have made Eastside mad because from the opening tip they poured it on. It was never close. Just last week Mauldin played Eastside close losing by two. A different story tonight. Mauldin didn't seem to have any team chemistry and Eastside capitalized. 76-54

Quan Franklin and Cameron Rousey were ejected from the game for "coming off the bench" yet the game tapes clearly showed the boys were in the game at the time of the altercation.  Coach Gamroth went to the High School league on Monday to get their ejection overturned.  Read more about it here
