Summer Volleyball Camp


For: Rising 1st-8th grade girls
When: Tues. July 15th-Thurs. July 17th from 9am-12pm
Where: Mauldin High School gym
Cost: $50(includes t-shirt)
This camp is for both beginners and for those who have played volleyball.  Mauldin's volleyball coaches, along with Varsity and JV players, will help teach fundamentals in a fun atmosphere.

Mauldin Alumn Named Libero of the Year

The USA South Athletic Conference has named Mauldin alumn, Katie Faith, Volleyball All Conference and USA South Libero of the Year! 

Faith, a Simpsonville, South Carolina sophomore defensive specialist becomes the first Lion volleyball student-athlete to earn USA South Libero of the Year honors in the program's brief history in the Conference. She is currently leading the Conference with 595 digs and her average of 4.65 digs per set is second-best. In Conference-only matches, Faith's 5.25 digs per set average was tops this year. She earned Third Team All-Conference Honors this fall and was named USA South Defensive Player of the Week twice.

Katie has also been selected as a member of the Capital One Academic All-District Team. This is an honor chosen by CoSIDA (Collegiate Sports Information Directors Association) from District V which is made up of SIDs from Alabama, Arkansas, Florida, Georgia, Missisippi, Missouri, North Carolina and South Carolina, Tennessee and Virginia. To be nominated, the student-athlete must be a starter or important reserve that has played in at least 50% of matches. The student-athlete must have at least a 3.30 on a 4.00 scale, have reached sophomore athletic and academic standing at their academic institution and be nominated by their sports information director. She now can be selected as an Academic All-American.

Mavs Lose to Riverside in 3

The Mauldin Lady Mavs varsity volleyball team lost to Riverside in three.  The scores were 23-25, 23-25, and 11-25.  Sophomore Bailey Hammond led in kills with 12 and senior Lindsay Renwick led in digs with 19.  Kaitlyn Arledge led the team in aces with 2.  Amanda Rickert contributed 20 assists and Brittany Tepedino led in blocks with 7.

Lady Mavs Face a Tough Loss Against Gaffney

The Lady Mavs lost a heart breaker to the Gaffney Indians.  They came out strong and won the first game 25-21.  After that, however, they lost 18-25, 14-25 and 16-25.  Lindsay Renwick and Carolyn Sullivan led the team in kills with 8 each.  Sullivan also led the team in digs with 18 while Amanda Rickert led the team in assists with 28.  Renwick, Bailey Hammond and Kaitlyn Arledge led the team in aces with 2 each.  Leading in blocks was Sarah Turner with 5.  


Next up, the Mavs take on the Riverside Warriors at Riverside on Thursday night at 7:00.  Come support your lady mavs!

Mauldin Volleyball Falls to Dorman

Tonight Mauldin fought hard against Dorman but couldn't defeat the #2 state ranked team.  The scores were 14-25, 19-25 and 20-25.  Senior Carolyn Sullivan led the team in kills with 9 while Amanda Rickert led in assists with 19.  Lindsay Renwick led the team in digs with 11 while Rickert and Courtney Miller contributed 9 each.  Leading in blocks was Sarah Turner with 3 while Renwick contributed 2 along with Brittany Tepedino.  Renwick, Nadine Hernandez, Rickert and sophomore Kaitlyn Arledge each contributed one ace.
