Boy's Tennis Awards Banquet Held
The Boy's Tennis Banquet was held on Thursday, May 19th, at Quaker Steak & Lube. Awards were given out by Coach Taylor and fun was had by all.
2 Boys Tennis Team Members Going to State Singles
Wilson Mathewes and Alan Pearce are selected to participate in the State Single Championships being held in Lexington on May 20 and 21, 2011.
Boy's Tennis Finish Season with Record of 18-3
The Boy's Tennis Team traveled to Columbia 3-5-11 to take on reigning State Champs Spring Valley. The whole team fought and competed great. We had a chance to win the match until the very end. Three of our matches went to third set tiebreakers. The team was confident that if we could have gotten to that decisive #1 doubles match that we would have won. For the second year in a row the draw for the play-offs put two of the top teams in the state playing each other in the second round which is unfortunate.
Boys Tennis Victorious in Playoffs, Record 18-2
The Boy's Tennis Team defeated Greenwood today in the First Round of the Playoffs. The team played great and took all seven matches. The team travels to Columbia on Thursday to take on defending State Champions Spring Valley. Go Team, you can do it on Thursday.
Boys Tennis Defeats Hillcrest, Record 17-2
The Boy's Tennis Team defeated Hillcrest on 4-28-11 bringing their regular season record to an incredible 17-2. The Team will host the first round of the Play-Offs on May 3rd at home versus Greenwood. Please come out and support the team in their Play-Off match on Tuesday.
Congratulations to Senior Wilson Mathewes, Junior Alan Pearce, and Sophomore Loic Delaby for being selected to the All-Region Team for 2011. Wilson was also one of the select Seniors chosen to the North/South All Star Team. CONGRATULATIONS to all of you on your accomplishments so far this year. The State Singles Championship nominees have been selected and final voting and announcements on this event will be made at a later date.
Tennis Team Defeats Riverside, Record 16-2
The Boy's Tennis Team defeated Riverside on 4-26-11 bringing their season record to 16-2. This win seals their 2nd place finish in the Region. We also honored our seniors at our last regular season home match. Graduating this year are Wilson Mathewes, Tyler Chaffee, Tyler Dallas and David Malpica. You guys WILL BE MISSED!!!
