Mavericks C Team Falls to T L Hanna 44 -14
Coming off a victory last week over Woodmont was simply not enough to propel the Mavs to another victory this week over the Jackets. The first quarter looked promising with a quick score of 8 - 6, in favor of Hanna. #74, Cole Martin , showed that he had what it took as a kicker to add an extra point leaving the score 8 - 7 Hanna, at the end of the first quarter. By half time, the C team seemed to have ran out of steam with score 28 - 7. The third quarter proved to be a new game for Mauldin. #10, Dre Massey ,with a quarterback keeper, carried the ball 22 yards. After an intercepted pass by the Jackets, the Mavs recovered a fumble to regain possession of the ball. A penalty was then called on Hanna for pass interference. Dre Massey ran the ball in to add another TD for Mauldin. Once again, Cole Martin kicked successfully for an extra point. At the end of the game, the final score was 44 - 14 in favor of T L Hanna.

 C-Team Mavericks whip Woodmont 33-7

Offense, Defense and Special Teams Dominate
Mauldin C-Team Football team whipped Woodmont’s C-team 33-7 at Woodmont. Defense got the game started recovering a fumble on Woodmont’s first possession. The defense ended the game with three fumble recoveries and two interceptions. Mauldin’s offense was led by quarterback Dre Massey who ran for a score and threw for one score. Special teams got in on the action as Jordan Ancrum returned a kickoff for 80 yards and a score in the third quarter. Special teams was also represented by the field goal team which converted 3 of 5 point after tries (PAT). This represents the first time an extra point has been kicked since the 2005 c-team season.
