MHS Track Team heads to State Qualifiers
The Mauldin Team gave an outstanding performance Thursday and Friday night at the Region II AAAA Championship. Overall the athletes qualified in 13 of the 16 events competed.
The lady Mavs laid claim to the following events. Kyler Wilson placed 2nd in the 400m running a pr of 1:00.35. The girls 4x400 team of Nia Wright, Jessica Bigner, Tiffany Gray and Kyler Wilson ran a season best of 4:13.07 defeating their previous time of 4:21. Shea Tanner placed 3rd in the pole vault at the height of 8-6.00.
Nia Wright placed 3rd in her secind event triple Jump with a distance of 34-02.00; Angela Thomas not having her team mate qualify alone jumped a pr of 34-01.50 placing her 4th.
Taylor Dawsey placed 4th in the 100m Hurdles with a pr of 16.67 and the 4x800m relay team of Sarah Lynch, Yianna Kyriacou, Emma Driggers and Jane Macsay ran a 10:22.90 placing 5th.

MHS competes at Furman Invitational
MHS Girls track competed at the 16th Annual Blue Shoes Invitational held on Saturday, April 13 on the campus of Furman University.
The Lady Mavs gave strong performances. Nia Wright once again gave a great performance by jumping a 34. 61 which pushed aside her previous school record of 34.50. Great jump Nia!
Many personal records were achieved at Saturday’s competition.The invitational hosted both High School and Collegiate teams hailing from Georgia, North Carolina, South Carolina and Tennessee.
