Lady Mavs 14-1!
LADY MAVS IMPROVE TO 14-1!
The Lady Mavs defeated Boiling Springs on Tuesday night 55-36 to improve their record to 14-1 and 4-0 in Region 2-4A. Kentra Washington exploded on the Bulldogs for 27 points on the evening. Ten other girls scored for the Mavs in this game: Daisa Johnson 4, Caitland Considine 3, Dee Sullivan 3, Raziya Prince 5, Tiffany Sullivan 2, Mia Bailey 2, Walisha Brown 2, Marissa Lysek 2, Morgan Alexander 3, and Tori whittenberg 2. Next up is a Top 5 showdown with J.L. Mann at home on Friday night.

#6 Ranked Mavs take on #4 Ranked Cavs Friday
LADY MAVS TAKE 3RD IN UPWARD CLASSIC
The Mauldin Lady Mavs went 2-1 in the tough Upward Classic tournament at Dorman last week and finished a very proud 3rd. Playing a very strong Bishop McNamara out of Maryland in the opening game our Mavs did the school proud by defeating them 62-56. This team easily won their other two games in the tournament and returned home having only one loss in South Carolina courtesy of the Mauldin Mavericks. Next up the Mavs battled the #4 ranked, undefeated 5A team from Georgia, the very impressive Parkview Panthers. The incredible depth and team speed of Parkview got the best of the Mavs as our girls suffer their first loss of the season 57-45. Next up the Lady Mavs battled the 2010 Upward Champions, Butler High out of the Charlotte area and defeated them 66-50 for 3rd place in the tournament. Morgan Alexander made the all-tournament team for the Lady Mavs. The girls returned home on Tuesday and played Riverside in a region game winning 52-40. Our girls are now 12-1 on the season and 2-0 in the region. Next up we travel to Dorman to play the 11-1 Cavaliers Friday night. Going into this game both teams have only lost to the Parkview Panthers from Georgia. According to Max Preps Dorman is ranked #4 in the state and our Mavs are ranked #6. The Lady Cavaliers have alot of depth and team height and will be very tough to defeat on the campus of Dorman University.

Lady Mavs Win Region Opener
Lady Mavs rolls to 4-0!
The Lady Mavs ventured into downtown Greenville on Friday night and came home with their 4th win of the season with a 57-40 victory over the Lady Raiders. A slow start found the girls down 8-6 after one quarter of play. During the break between quarters Coach Bell fine tuned her machine and the Mavs kicked into gear during the 2nd period to jump ahead 31-16 at the half. This time the Lady Mavs didn't let the girls from Greenville think about coming back on them as they increased the lead to 24 points to end the third quarter up 48-24. Then it was just a matter of playing out the final 8 minutes before the girls from Mauldin could board the bus and head home with their 57-40 victory. Morgan Alexander recorded her 39th career double-double, scoring 14 points and grabbing 11 rebounds. Tori Whittenberg dropped in 22 points with 6 threes, including 4 during the 2nd quarter. Kentra Washington scored 10 points on the night, Raziya Prince added 6, Caitland Considine and Tiffany Sullivan had 2 points each. Rounding the scoring was La'Daisa Johnson with 1 point. Next up for the Lady Mavs is an early season region game at Byrnes on Tuesday night.
