Mavs beat Dorman on the Road!

LADY MAVS SHOCK DORMAN ON THE ROAD

The Lady Mavs beat Dorman at Dorman Friday night 65-56 to improve to 13-1 on the season and 3-0 in the region. The girls from Mauldin trailed in this game for the first 26 minutes, twice by as much as 10 points. Going into the 4th quarter the Mavs trailed 44-37 and then something called will to win came over these girls as they exploded into the final period of play with a 13-2 run in the first 4:00 minutes. The Lady Mavs forced a Dorman timeout when they took the lead for the first time 47-46 with 5:32 left in the game. Something magical happened during this timeout. Backed by the strongest on the road fan support of the last 12 years, all you could hear in the Dorman gym was "Let's Go Mauldin" being cheered by the jacked up fans from Mauldin. Believe me those players heard it and returned to the floor knowing that they had people in the stands strongly supporting the heart and will to win that they were displaying. Riding the energy from the crowd the Lady Mavs went on to win the 4th quarter 28-12 and the game 65-56! On the night Morgan Alexander had 26 points and 11 rebounds. Tori Whittenberg added 14 points and 7 assists. Kentra Washington tossed in 9 points and a couple of big steals. Raziya Prince continued her strong play with 8 points and 4 assists. Caitland "All Heart" Considine added 6 points and hauled in 11 huge hustle rebounds against the tall trees from Dorman. Daisa Johnson had 2 points to complete the Mavs scoring on the evening.
