This was a team format tournament.  Mauldin finished with 4 wins and 2 loses.  Indivually for the Mavs Matt Courter finished the two day tournament with a 6-0 record (5 pins, 1 major decision).  Ryan Cohen (3 pins, 1 decision, 1 forfeit), Alex Slessman (3 pins, 2 technical falls) and Sean Fagan (4 pins, 1 forfeit) finished with 5-1 records. Adam Kern (2 pins, 1 major, 2 forfeits), Lucas Watson (3 pins, 1 major decision, 1 forfeit), and Josh Godino (2 pins, 2 forfeits) all finished with 4-2 records.  Kevin Huffman (215 pound weight class) gained valuable varsity mat experience as well.  The final match for Mauldin was against a strong Greenwood team.  Our young Mavericks grew and gelled as a team and pulled out an exciting 37-36 win with Lucas Watson putting the finishing touches on the match by gaining a major decision which earned the team 4 points and the win.  This is the third time Lucas has been put in that situation and the second time he has been successful.
